Koide primarily consists of Lychee, Blood Peach, Grapefruit, and Mint. The flavours are very delicate and challenging to discern, but they coexist harmoniously. The blush pink exterior is mildly gelatinous while the interior has a remarkably light mouthfeel and sweetness, making this a truly elegant dessert both visually and on the pallet.

Teh, literally translates “tea” in various languages in Singapore, is the quintessential drink for most locals. This cake pays interesting homage to the beverage. The first bite might remind one of our local Teh C with that familiar sweet milky flavour, with floral notes from the Earl Grey. When you dig deeper and you would unearth a pear compote that has a similar flavour profile to an apple pie filling which alleviates the interest of the dessert. Finally, the beautiful hazelnut crisps provide the needed crunch and oddly triggers a nostalgic memory of breakfast cereal.

Basque Cheesecake, step aside. KKI's Cheesecake (Fromage) to us is the epitome of a delicious cheesecake and is undeniably our favourite dessert. It flaunts a bold blue cheese profile, yes, blue cheese, but before you cringe or swoon over that thought, it works. KKI uses Cambozola, which is considerably milder than Gorgonzola and features a smooth, creamy texture with subdued blue notes. It's well balanced. Savoury with an optimal level of sweetness. It's rich and creamy, with the Kinako streusel adding a purposeful nutty crunch to this work of art. As if that wasn't good enough, the rum raisins and fig made it even better by providing that extra kick and cuts through the cheesy monotony (which often isn't a bad thing for cheesecake lovers).

Another favourite of ours has to be "J" which commands attention with its deceptively gorgeous presentation of a little potted plant. The grey pot is a base of black sesame made of kantan jelly. It is filled with a citrusy yuzu curd, matcha rice puffs, and chocolate soil. The combination of matcha and Goma is expectedly delicious, but the refreshing element of yuzu offers acidity and brings another bitter dimension while the various textures of creaminess, crunchiness of the matcha rice puff, and smooth Goma "pot" work in unison.

For beverage pairings, you may choose between Pour Over Specialty Coffee ($6) with beans by Tiong Hoe or Hot Tea For One ($6) with tea leaves by Lupicia. We recommend trying their grape flavoured tea.
